Get it Done!
Inventory season is creeping up. In preparation for the "big count" there is a great deal of tidying we need to do in our POS system. And yes, we have had all year to do it, but all of a sudden I am `T minus 7` days away from taking a 2 week va/stay-cation followed almost directly by 2 weeks solo as Miko takes her holiday time which lands us directly at the point of the big count, as our fiscal year end is August 31. soooo...I have been in data entry hell for the last few days and will continue to be there until Sunday I am sure. BUT...this all means that lots gets done the right way, it will be easier next year (and although I am complaining a tad it is still way better than last year already), and to be fair we are not procrastinating...we have a plan, and it is a good one. We just shoulda hammered it out fully earlier...but let`s face it, it would still be data-entry hell for a week straight, cuz that is just how I do things. I get on a roll and all of sudden I am at it til the wee hours of the morning. Let`s be clear...it is a choice. I prefer to do less setting up over and over, and so just go full steam until it is complete, or I fall over. Today, I feel like I could fall over. I should have worn more comfortable shoes to stand at a computer for 7 hours straight.
In an effort to not fall over completely, and in an effort at making room for balance, I am taking tomorrow off (even though every ounce of my being tells me I "should" be getting it all done while the store is closed, even though it is going to take more than just one push and my plan to spread it out is sound). Honey has booked the day off, we are getting together with friends and we are making Bailey's and Kaluha...in my kitchen. I like to call it moon-shine, but I am being told that it is not...because I have a recipe? Moon-shine sounds more daring though.
And speaking of booze, I just learned that one of my all-time favourite bartenders is now tending bar on the Danforth 3 nights a week! Now if only we can get her a few more blocks east. But until then I will tour over to visit when I can. I spent a great deal of my university years being plied with beer, after beer after sambuca with/by this lovely woman! It is good to see her again. Her affinity for Jack still makes me shudder, but it will not stop me from buying her a "coffee" quite regularly.
And now I think I will get some knitting in. I am a mere 6 rows away from from completing Ishbel. And my stripey gauntlets are done...pix soon.
Happy Stitching!
